What you can request from the AI
Rooms and floors
Describe the rooms you need across up to three above-ground storeys and a basement. The basement can contain up to six rooms. Generated layouts use rectangular rooms, with stairs connecting levels.
Explicit room width and depth are honored or the layout is reported as impossible. Target room areas can change to fit, with the difference disclosed.
Plot and direction
Specify plot sides from 4 to 120 metres and an entrance facing north, east, south, or west. Identify shared-wall boundaries. Where a declared side or rear boundary is within 2 metres of the house, the generator keeps windows and balconies off that side.
Roof and outdoor structures
Choose a flat, shed, or gable roof. Request front or back porches and verandas, or a front carport for up to three cars. Fit depends on the available space.
Balconies, terraces, and a courtyard
Request balconies from upper-floor rooms with outside walls, or a flat rooftop terrace with stair access. An upper floor can also step back on the front, back, or left to create a terrace. Compare balconies and terrace types.
One central courtyard or lightwell can be surrounded by galleries. It requires a flat roof and cancels a rooftop terrace. Narrow and stepped layouts may not accommodate it. Front or back step-backs also require a flat roof and cancel a rooftop terrace. Work through a courtyard-home brief.
Interiors
Request wall colors such as warm-white, sage, clay, navy, or charcoal, and wood, light-wood, tile, or stone floors. Add furniture wishes, kitchen counter arrangements, arched openings, or decorative columns.
Yard and slope
Ask for planting and water features around the house. Describe a sloping lot for a suitable walk-out basement concept. The slope must be sufficient; otherwise the basement remains buried and the result explains the shortfall.
Supported requests still need room to fit
Furniture, kitchen arrangements, window preferences, and yard positions depend on the layout. Review the result notes to see what was included, changed, or left out.
For generated stairs, an L-turn request becomes a U-turn and an open-stair request becomes straight stairs. Those changes are disclosed. The manual editor has additional control over these variants.

Material choices
Colours, finishes, and named construction systems help you describe the home you have in mind. Treat the visual choices and nominal construction information as starting points for developing the detailed specification.
Read the result alongside your brief
Keep your essential requirements visible while you review the rooms, routes, and outdoor spaces. The result notes explain the assumptions and adjustments behind the design, giving you a clear basis for the next question or revision.
Not yet
The same ledger, read the other way — what ChatHome.ai does not build today:
- Hip roofs — asked for, they build as gable; hips arrive in a later version.
- Rooftop rooms or furniture on the terraces — the bulkhead is stair access only: no penthouse, no jacuzzi.
- Wall thickness or build-ups — every wall is a 0.12 m shell (partitions 0.24 m); a declared structure system shows as nominal, not built.
- Plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.
- A second courtyard — one per house.
- Stilts, piles, or raised floors — houses build on grade.
- Multi-step split-level terracing — one walk-out level per house.
