Describe a layout
Tell the AI about your rooms, floors, and plot. Start from the generated concept, then review what fits and what needs another look.
Draw it yourself
Use the Box tool for a rectangle or Draw to trace an outline. Set a wall thickness to turn a solid shape into a room, then add doors and windows. Follow the first-room drawing guide.
Look at the space from both sides
Check the layout in 2D
The plan view shows the design from above with size labels. Use the Measure tool to check a distance and typed fields when you need specific dimensions. Understand room sizes and measurements.
Understand it in 3D
Switch back to 3D to inspect heights, openings, and how the rooms connect. Enter Explore when you want to experience the layout from inside.
Keep your bearings
Generated plans can use the entrance direction you specify. The plan view keeps true north at the top so you can discuss the design in relation to the site. Learn how to describe your plot and entrance.
Take your layout to the next conversation
Save a PNG image of your view, download a dimensioned PDF plan sheet, or download a DXF of the design's 2D footprints. The DXF contains outlines only; it does not include door and window openings, dimensions, heights, or finish details. The PDF plan sheet carries the openings and dimensions.
Questions about floor planning
Can I upload a floor-plan image or PDF?
ChatHome.ai imports its own JSON design files. Photo, PDF, and DWG floor-plan recognition are not available. You can use known measurements to draw a layout yourself.
Are these construction drawings?
Use the design for concept planning and discussion. Have a qualified professional develop and check the drawings needed for construction.
